Montreux Jazz Festival 2007

In July we were very privileged to be playing in the 41^st Montreux Jazz Festival. The year's concerts saw 250,000 visitors see a variety of shows over a period of 16 days.

The Festival played host to a variety of styles of music alongside some jazz legends. There were 7 different venues of world class music to visit and experience. Our own performance was part of the ‘Under the Sky Festival’. The best act within this Festival will have the chance to perform on the main stage at next year's Festival.

The band was lucky enough to play two dates on the Parc Vernex stage.

Stockholm Jazz Festival 2006

In 2006 the SLJO made its first trip overseas, to the Stockholm Jazz Festival. It was a great success and huge fun, so we now plan to make one overseas trip each year.

We went for three nights, playing three gigs in the early evening, so had plenty of time for sightseeing and late night jam sessions. You can read more about our trip in our news item.

Band members could take one guest, and we had about ten non-players with us, who also very much enjoyed being part of the trip.
