Our Gigs

In 2007 we played 38 gigs, almost as many as the record 44 last year! We're now in full swing of another busy one and are often privileged to perform in a variety of great venues. We perform much more often over the summer months, using the quieter times for preparing the music.

Normally the gigs are open to everyone in the band, but sometimes, when there are space limitations, the ensemble has to be by invitation. If so, we try to rotate players so everyone gets an opportunity to do the smaller band gigs if they wish.

In the past we have performed in clubs, jazz festivals, sunny parks, bandstands, churches, community centres, private parties, black tie awards ceremonies, museums, thunderstorms, train stations, pavements - even on traffic islands - with and without dancers - variety being the spice of SLJO life.
