Tour De France (London) 2007

When the Tour de France began in 1903, men waved their hats and women their umbrellas in appreciation. The winner rode so fast he reached the finish before the judges! (And there were no jazz orchestras to lift their spirits.)
Just over a century later, with an extraordinary carnival atmosphere that attracts up to two billion television viewers worldwide and over 15 million roadside spectators, the Tour de France spills out onto the streets and reaches out to embrace everyone in the communities it visits We can all rub shoulders with some of the greatest cyclists in the world.
The SLJO will be there for Le Grand Depart! We are in Trinity Park, by the Tower of London, on the morning on Sunday July 8th. This is only the third time the Tour has been staged partly in England. Don’t miss it or us!
